Be the person sailing by in everyone’s photos of Somes Sound. Start your day with a relaxing morning sail up Somes Sound while sipping mimosas (or simply OJ straight up). Mornings usually have lighter winds and give a more laid-back sailing experience while also providing great lighting for photographs
We will sail along what some believe to be the only fjord on the East Coast. From the sound we will see Flying Mountain, Valley Cove, Norumbega Mountain, and other features of Acadia National Park along with impressive homes along Sargent Drive that harken back to the Great Gatsby.
On the sound we will often see a variety of marine life including black guillemots, cormorants, eagles, seals, porpoises, and on the rare occasion we have even seen an ocean sunfish.
**NOTE:** Due to liquor laws in Maine, Get Out Sailing cannot provide the champagne/prosecco, but you may bring your own. This is purchasable from many stores right in Southwest Harbor such as Sawyer’s Specialties, IGA Foodmart, Liquor Locker, or right from the Claremont Hotel.
