About Us

Our Beginnings

Get Out Sailing was formed in the winter of 2021 during the pandemic. Mike, Michelle, and Corbin Brzezowski love their home in Southwest Harbor, Maine, the ocean, and sharing adventures with friends and new acquaintances. While dreaming of summer sailing adventures that winter, they decided to bring the joy of sailing the coast of Acadia National Park and Mount Desert Island to visitors and locals alike. It was the perfect time to get outside, get connected with people again, and of course, to Get Out Sailing.

Mike Brzezowski is obsessed with sailing and Snow Squall. He first fell in love with this Shannon 38 sailboat in the summer of 2010 when he and the former owner sailed to Newfoundland together on her. She handled the open ocean with grace and comfort as they poked along small harbors, large ports, a French island, and remote outposts. It would be years until Snow Squall became his vessel, but she was always in his heart and he sailed on her at every opportunity

Our Family

Get Out Sailing is a family business. On charters for families, Corbin, who is 11, will sometimes attend to help entertain other children. In February, our crew grew when our son Emmett was born. For the summer of 2022 we get one more future crew member, but we doubt he will be much help this year. He is darn cute though!

Our family believes that sailing along the coast and islands of our home is a life-changing experience that we hope you get to experience. Please don’t miss this opportunity when you visit our home, Schedule a trip with us or find some way to get out on the water.
